How To Stop Your Brain From Overthinking

Overthinking is a problem that a lot of people have and it's sad that sometimes this stops them from doing things. I personally haven't really suffered with this much, but I know people who have. This is the advice that I gave them and hopefully it will help you.

Don't Make Rash Decisions- There is a fine line between overthinking and under thinking. You don't really want to be on either side of the line. Not thinking can lead you to make silly decisions that you will later regret. Some people think the way to stop overthinking is to go with the first idea you have. But ultimately this won't help. It will just confirm the theory that everything has to be thought about in great detail before you can do it.

Get Some Self Confidence - Many overthinkers are too busy worrying about how their decisions affects other people. Or if other people will agree with it. At the end of the day you make decisions for yourself and you should never not do something because you're scared about what people will say. There are haters everywhere and no matter how hard you try you can't please everyone. So someone is always going to object to your decision. You just need to know if their opinion means anything to you. But some choices will leave you with no one on your side or pushing you on. In that case you have to be confident enough to stand out on your own.

Discuss It - When you talk about it, it's a chance to get someone else's input especially if it is a big decision. But don't let what they sway you from doing what you want. Talking to a trusted friend can take the worry out of it though. Also sometimes saying it aloud can help put it in perspective.

Don't Worry- So many people worry about every little decision they make as if it could be their last. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes things have to go wrong to go right. People make mistakes so it'd be silly of you to restrict yourself so that you don't make any. Unless it's a matter of life and death most bad choices can be worked around. So your life won't be over until it's really over.

Have Fun- Most likely you will regret not enjoying life to the fullest more than a choice you made in year 8. So live life and don't worry about the little things. If deep down you know in 10 years this won't matter then it's not worth getting worked up over.

I hope this will help you to stop overthinking. Also why not share this with a friend who you think needs to read this. Enjoy x.
